It was a bit messy. Rothwell's contract was expiring but we would be due compensation due to his age. Blackburn negotiated a deal rather than go to tribunal.

Very modest fee (believe it was around 150k). We were only due compensation as he was under 24 so we cut a deal to avoid the hassle of a tribunal.

Emlyn Begley, at a guess, strangely i think i may have been at school with his father, who I've not seen or heard of in the best part of 40 years. But he was a big Liverpool supporter so the christian name fits my thinking, and obviously its the same surname
