I have no problems with pay scales, that is life. But people doing the same job should be paid a similar amount, although what 'similar' means is open to debate.

What the company in that article did do was have an open pay structure, which should really be more commonplace.

I remembered reading this.

Seems this model worked in America.

Difference appears to be everyone was paid above market rate so whilst there might have been some issues with equal pay despite seniority, qualifications etc, if your being paid more than you would command elsewhere I guess you will go with it.

This UK chap seemed to be underpaying some whilst overpaying others compared to the market, this making people feel they were subsidising others.

Throw in workers who appear less able or less motivated and it’s not going to work.
