Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

Stevens in until the January transfer window perhaps.

It’s a team game but too many individual mistakes from Eastwood have cost us points now. That charge out was indicative of muddled thinking and he needs a break.

said for ages now, Sykes is crap. Had a good game against Newcastle/West Ham but when it comes to bread and butter games he’s shite

At the very minimum the club should be thinking that Eastwood is not Championship level. He is not the future of the club. Is Stevens? If the answer is no then we need to bring in a new keeper in January or, if one is not available, make plans and approaches to get someone in for next season.

He also made one truly awful clearance with his feet that went about six feet up and out that we got lucky from, it’s not just one clanger a game from him it’s a couple and he isn’t making the saves anymore. He is costing us points regularly now, massive decision for Robinson for Tuesday.

Just hasn't been good enough this season but as a few have said, not having a position has really hurt him.

Has to be a point where you have to start sharing the blame with the management over trying square pegs in round holes or asking them to perform roles they're just not suited to. Look at Kelly for instance - the two games he's played further up the field he's looked miles better than the player who was trying (and clearly failing) to be an Alex Gorrin replacement.

To be fair the backpass was quite tricky.

I cant think of a worse keeper weve had. Maybe paul kee. Has he had his eyesight tested? A lot of his errors seem to misjudging the flight of the ball. E g. Wycombe, charlton, accrington, today.

I have always rated Eastwood but he is reaching the end of the road here. A senior player like him should be stepping up and show some leadership with consistent performances, but he doesn’t seem to be able to do it. Maybe it’s the time for Stevens but thats a big ask for the kid to come into a struggling side like we are.

I think most appreciate what he’s done for us historically but like others have said, football is a cut throat business, I don’t think we’ve seen why Steven’s is a worse option, so now’s the opportunity to see if he sinks or swims prior to making a decision in January as to whether you need to bring someone else in

Bit rich of the manager to say other people tell him he’s a good player when he gave him the number 10 shirt in the summer. Does he give players the 10 shirt because other people think he’s good, then? Not because he rates him? We’ll gloss over all the times he’s gushed over him previously, too. Let’s just focus on that big bus. Karl’s upset.

He doesn’t need stitching up any more than he’s stitched himself up with his performance. That switching to the Republic is looking optimistic.
Exactly this!

I think KR is feeling the pressure somehow, and like most of us know, his default reaction is to throw some of his players to the wolves to try and deflect blame when this happens... shameful management tactic in my opinion!

Criticism where it is due is warranted, but that happens in private where it belongs in my view

If you have access to iFollow, watch the post match interview with KR. It's been conducted by Sky and he is fairly blunt in his criticism of the subs and, and this is telling, very critical of Eastwood.

Is there any chance you could summarise the interview for those of us that dont have iFollow?

Can't see how Sykes will feature for us again now. Ties are cut.

That training session is going to be very awkward, if he turns up.

Whilst there is absolutely no denying that Sykes was terrible on Saturday, I have a problem with how is now being treated. Sykes came to this club as an attack minded midfielder, and that is basically where he has played whenever called upon. What he does have is a good engine and can get up and down the pitch. And it appears that this has meant KR wants to employ him on the pitch with defensive responsibilities, something he has never really had to do before. His best games have always been in the attacking areas, and his high press against MK Dons was impressive, but even in that game he did not have to do the defensive donkey work.

It takes time to convert such a player into a specialist centre midfielder, and whilst it is pretty basic stuff to track a runner if you haven't been trained to do it it doesn't come second nature. KR is very quick to criticise Sykes playing out of position, but has not been consistent with his failure to criticise Clare for his numerous errors as he is allowed to learn his new full back position, one which KR now seems to have given up with but still cannot see it being a failure. KR brought on Sykes to replace an attacking player. When he shuffled again with the next set of subs he pulled Sykes back into a Centre Mid position. He didn't need to, he could have used Forde or Mous in the Centre Mid role but chose to play Sykes there knowing he is inexperienced at the defensive need of this role at such a time when defensive qualities were an absolute must. I find KR's criticism here very harsh and is really deflecting from his own failure to not put his players in their proper positions and ones that he knows what job they can do.
