National News Covidiots.....

Surely it's a win win for Johnson. If Scotland remain he's held (part) of the Union together. If Scotland gain independence we have a Tory government, like, forever!

That's the point. Brexit going ahead in the middle of a pandemic is stupid, but the negative effects of Brexit can just be blamed on the pandemic.
Brexit had already happened before the pandemic started. Just the pandemic has taken over everything at the moment so until this pandemic is over or at least managed in such a way that deaths through COVID-19 were thing of the past then brexit can be looked at more closely.
although an is and them ( the U.K. and EU ) have shown already with the vaccine issue the fun and games that are still to come.

Heathrow arrivals absolutely heaving no social distancing......ah well a few more idiots bringing in Covid to spread.
OI BORIS SHUT THE f*****g BORDERS

Don't be so hard on him, you know he can't do anything until Kier Starker says do it
Did you see the picture today? For gods sake Boris grow a pair and tell the airports to shut until we are sure these toasters aren’t arriving until COVID has gone and will they be checked

If they are UK citizens they can`t be refused entry.
It`s the checking that creates the queues.

As soon as you say "From this date you will have to...." it`s fair odds that the few days before will be chaotic.

The economic recovery is not going to take only 12 months though.

I agree the timing could not have been worse but would another 12 months actually have made a difference.

This economy is shot for years (50 if you believe JRM) so maybe just take all the pain in one go?

I have answers, just throwing in an angle.

There's that Jockey Club backhander again.

Would be an absolute pisstake as last year's festival was a super spreader event

If you take the Guardians misleading headlines out of it and park the politics there is little/no evidence it was such an event.
In the week of the Cheltenham Festival 2020 there were ten Premier League football matches and Atletico Madrid played their Champions League game at Liverpool
Rugby internationals were played at Twickenham and Murrayfield and the Stereophonics played in front of 15,000 people over two nights in Cardiff.

All back handers of course..................

Great bit of whataboutism there.

Cheltenham in 2020 had 250,000 people turn up. There were warnings there (as there were about the other events you quote)
