Mentioned ARB here on the 4th Feb when it was 0.96p now 143p as of close today.

The company are headed by Peter Wall who is also going to be involved with Cellular Goods (I believe on the board).

Anyway it’s blockchain company specialising in crypto mining (particularly BTC). Today saw the USA take it up to approx 196p and it has potential to go much further (look at MARA and RIOT).

With MasterCard, Mellon Bank, PayPal, Uber, Apple Pay etc. beginning to come round to BTC a rise in the price will ultimately do ARB well but actually I think PW is a very, very good businessman and will expand into wider blockchain etc.

They’re worth having a look at and researching, the tie with BTC is that it doesn’t have a closing bell so it can be a bit stressful at times but I think now with NASDAQ on the horizon this could potentially align with RIOT at $10 at the very least.

Started at 38p just before Christmas and have topped up to 78p now, will probably look to 100p over the next week or so as I think there’s potential for 400p minimum.

Could be completely wrong mind you! I’d imagine it’ll drop fairly early on Monday morning after opening 170p or so as people take their profits but I’d not be surprised to see it continue to rise, especially when the US market opens on Tuesday.

Take a look at their recent RNS for more details but it’s worth a look.

Side note... regarding Cellular Goods I got the below from them, I’m set up there to hopefully get a slightly reduced price:

Firstly thank you for your interest in Cellular Goods PLC. Apologies if there has been a delay in responding to your email but the team are dealing with an enormous volume of enquiries.
We are planning to announce the date of our IPO and pricing of the share offer in about two weeks’ time. Private investors will then have the opportunity to apply for the share offer through PrimaryBid who will be co-ordinating such applications.

Please visit PrimaryBid.com for further information and how to prepare for the offer. N.B You will also need an account with a stockbroker or share dealing platform, if you do not have one already.

Please note we are not authorised to provide personal financial advice. Prospective investors are urged to consult their personal financial adviser, stock broker or online platform.

Would love to have been in on this at 2.7 pence per share back around Feb 20 time, but I have always steered clear of Bitcoin because I “just don’t get it”.

Lots of people making lots of money but the numbers looking at this article just don’t add up.

Bitcoin market has just got too hot for me know and we seem to be back to the frenzy of a couple of years ago before it imploded for a period.

It may well be different this time if it is potentially now being backed by some big names but I think I’ll watch from the sidelines.

I have the same discussion with a good friend of mine who sold at 98p a couple of weeks ago and had previously been burnt by crypto.

My feeling is that Bitcoin has been de-risked as a result of “institutions” now accepting it and it becoming more mainstream. It has worth and value because of that acceptance and it being finite.

Obviously blockchain is more than just BTC so there’s no reason for Argo to be a one trick pony. What we’ll have to wait and see is what banks and governments do as that will ultimately have the big impact. My friend thinks they’ll look to kill if off with regulated digital currency etc. I think they’re too late.

It will be an interesting one that will probably leave me with a very healthy profit or absolutely £0 haha

I know with me it is a psychological barrier that I can’t get through, which I admit is odd because I am more than prepared to risk money on investments, so why not something like this?

I had very similar reservations with Carbon Credits years back when I was being hounded to invest. Some proper boiler room scams going on back then.

I think what you are saying makes absolute sense and if I was to do anything with this it would be via this sort of vehicle rather than investing directly in crypto.

When this share came to my attention (on lse) just before Christmas, I believe another closely linked company was Pires Investments, which is a crypto venture capitalist.

I think it was about 6 p at the time (now 16p). This is another that offers a wider spread into crypto and blockchain that looks interesting and doesn’t have the extent of volatility.

If I was to do anything, it might be something like this.

Do you have any thoughts on Pires @carefreeoufc ?

It’s not a company I’ve looked into in any detail if I’m honest. I don’t often look into investment companies too much (other than VELA) as I try to go straight to the company if that makes sense.

They’re in with Pluto who are well run and are specialised in the technology that helps enable this to happen. Arb have also invested in them.

If you think that this is here to stay they could be an interesting proposition.

I get what you’re saying in terms of getting your head around it. I guess I see the companies and banks now warming to it, potential negative interest rates (I don’t think it will happen) and the increasing use of contactless payment and it feels like we’re almost already there.

When I invested though it was more as a back door into BTC so I won’t pretend this is a concept I’ve believed in for years.

👍 Got into Vela Tech early November so no particular movement on this as yet but I liked the idea of this one.

I got into Arb at 78p and it has been good so far my only foray into a cyrpto company. With Tesla buying some btc and saying they will accept it as payment and Nissan rumoured to accept dodgecoin It is certainly starting to gain some tranction more institutions are buying into cyrpto and I keep reading how its probably a sensible hedge to have maybe 2% of your portfolio in it. However I am still very sceptical about actually buying any directly and kinda wish the authorities that be would kill it off as an idea of acceptable legal tender.

I’ve been buying small amounts through Mode, very small amounts! Usually on a Sunday afternoon when it drops off a little. I guess as a bit of a speculative purchase. Im up 27% (as of now) which I’m not grumbling about.

I’m not sure whether the authorities can kill it off now. Some of the companies that are accepting it have a fair bit of power over policy.

Interestingly, I read that Mode was an investment tip for 2021 somewhere.
