Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Not as unlikely as you suggest. Nathan Holland stayed living local until the summer, long after he finished with us. He was in contact with the squad during the playoffs and felt very much part of that team.

Gavin Whyte loved his time at Oxford but simply had an offer he couldn't refuse. We asked about him in the summer but Cardiff wanted to see him fight for his place. They're now more than happy to see him go out on loan, and KR suggested that conversations had taken place before Christmas.

The only thing will be that neither are likely to sign at the end of the loan spells and we may look to build on our recruitment model with a young player coming in permanently or on a loan before you buy deal.

Well yes I could believe one but not both! More concerned that we get a centre half tbh

We brought in Holland AND Browne a year ago, so still perfectly possible. And don't worry, we'll definitely bring in a centre back.
Ex West Ham has confirmed tonight Holland will make a decision the next couple of days.

Loan offer from us & Hull. Interesting to see who he picks..

Only because we knew that Baptiste and Fosu would be gone. It was that window that taught me that transfer windows should definitely be judged at the end and not during.

situations change, but some can’t see that.... [emoji23]
Ah situations may well change, but suggesting that anybody is in a relegation scrap after what 10 games is clearly nonsense.
As we all know Barnsley were bottom at Christmas and were promoted.
A 'relegation scrap doesn't really start for many clubs until the last part if the season.

To be honest Holland didn't impress me too much during his first spell here, but it was his first loan spell playing regular senior football. If he does come back hopefully he would have benefited from that first spell with us and can really kick on. I remember Tyler Roberts struggling for us and then doing really well for Shrewsbury and Walsall after.

I'm with you there - a few great touches and a couple of really good goals, but inconsistent and didn't seem to have that great burst of pace we were expecting. We already have Shodipo (assuming he stays) who is equally inconsistent but shown a greater eye for goal so far.

Hull are searching for a winger as Adelakun has been recalled by Bristol City. I seem to remember some suggesting he was very close to signing for us in the summer????
Could we be back in for him? His contract is up in the summer so I suspect they'd sell this window???

I would literally mud wrestle my own mother to have Whyte back.

Do we really want a loan? Sure it would be a good signing but there's also an opportunity to add another permenant asset who we can develop. Not sure we could afford to buy Masterson though.

I think in ordinary times, it would be the sort of move we'd make. I don't doubt the scouts do have a few options lined up and the McNally lad from Ireland could be one we'd see arrive.

As it is and with the season that's playing out in front of us, I'd rather we didn't overcommit. It sounds rubbish to temper ambition but who knows whether this season will limp to a conclusion of not, especially in the lower leagues. I'd rather we didn't overcommit or overspend especially with revenues to the club being a trickle at present.
