Home Match Day Thread 05/12/2020 L1 OUFC v Hull City

Played really well as a team , effort was outstanding and hope this shows that we are going in the right direction .
Ruffs stuck in well after a torrid first half and had a great second .
Well played lads , well played

Good performance, similar pattern to last week but much better game management against a much better side than last week. A mostly settled side is starting to emerge and our performances in general are reflecting that even if the results are quite what we want.

That was a very good result for us nobody would have gave us a chance before the game and to only draw because they scored a good goal we can be proud of that performance tonight I think onwards and upwards hopefully

Hull had won 7 of the last 8 and have the best away record in the Division.
So that was a very good point. It was also a good performance with some individuals looking really good.
What an important player Sam Long has become. Reliable and whole hearted and he seems to me to be improving on the ball and going forwards.

Good result, we’ll take that.

Worrying that we once again can’t hold on to a lead, and sit back again and again.

Atkinson, Gorrin, McGuane all great

Long, Kelly, Obita all played quite well also.
This was very different to the Swindon game. Hull, top of the league and brilliant away form. I think in this game we were pushed back due to their quality. Despite that, how many saves did Stevens make? Obviously we have things to work on but things looked much better today. Though our back 4 were excellent, including Long.

The annoying thing is beat Swindon and it would have been four games unbeaten and 6 from 12 which would be very rosy.

Damn it.
Yes we was just saying that , and even the 1k would have made a difference with this , like they did today at 60 minutes I feel. But proud the way we played today , keep on moving forward with the result .

Only ok ....you had us getting stuffed out of sight !! A 1-1 must have been an outstanding effort
Didn't somebody suggest that we would lose 5 0 because we were so bad?
We have a run of less difficult games in the next 6 weeks and need to pull away.
But that 8s draws against Pompey away, Ipswich and Hull and defensively we are looking far better.
Stevens has hardly had a save to make in the last couple of games.

how many saves did Stevens make?
3. And had a 100% catch stat (whatever that actually means).
I thought he had a great game. His positioning on the pitch is pretty good and he can play football with both feet, made some decent saves and mostly got to the high balls. A couple of dubious long kicks anongst many good ones, but overall he engendered some confidence.

Back in the relegation zone, but the squad should take some confidence from that performance against the league leaders.
We showed that relegation is by no means a certainty, and we have a game in hand over several teams immediately above us.
Ah Shropshire U , no talk of relegation here we are going forward with this result , moving up the table I’m sure.

A decent point and a good (not great) performance. We need more goals and to start winning.
