Pretty exciting stuff. The opposition hasn't been of the highest quality in recent games, but we do seem to have finally developed an identity under Des and are hitting form at the right time. I hope we stick with the single pivot (4-1-4-1) from here on in. Maybe not Cam's best position but...
Barnsley, Bolton and Peterborough all lost in the playoffs last year. If we can just get 6th place then we've every chance against that bunch of choakers!
I think the point of this thread was to have a discussion about the remaining games as it's quite an exciting stage of the season. We are where we are, the post mortems have been done to death .....
That was grim, it looked like we were in trouble from about 35 minutes. I thought Matete had a terrible game but not sure anyone comes out with too much credit. Also Moore can't come back soon enough.
Quite enjoyed the game last night. Best performance for a while and a new system which was interesting. Not something we've seen this season and felt like it was a mark of Des Buckingham setting the team up the way he wants to.
I liked Brannigan sitting deep, almost between the centre halfs, to...
Where does this idea that we're spending on a similar level to Pompey and Derby come from? You just need to look at the squads and recent transfers to see this almost certainly isn't the case.
I didn't think the first half was terrible and thought 1-1 at HT was fair enough. Remember that Brannagan hit the post as well. Dale was disappointing and there were a bunch of missed passes. I felt a lot of this was down to players not quite being on the same wavelength (especially Matete) but...
Matete looks a different class, has to play as much as possible. Could (should?) have won it, but there was also an incredible save from Cumming in the 2nd half.
