Hi all

I am looking for high quality iconic feeling photos of the London Road from the 1990s that I can print out for a photo arrangement in my hallway.

Can Anyone assist? Needs to be good resolution so it can’t be screenshots off the google

I would speak to the club photographer, Steve Daniels, as he has a vast collection of photos from that era

Great idea thanks. Does anyone have his email or contact details?

if not I’ll find him on fb I guess

Agree Steve Daniels is the best bet

also Martyn Brodesky ( works for OUFC- programme editor- as well he's written several books on OUFC too) may be helpful too?

Online photo libraries often have these sort of things.

Getty and Alamy are generally the best as they come from professional photographers but Shutterstock and iStock may have something too.

It’s not on a match day but it’s a London Road photo that fits the era.

I always remember it as being much bigger! Mind you, that is a few years ago now.

It always amazed me how small the ground looked from the air.
I remember the Beech road stand looking pretty big. But would be dwarfed by any of our current stands

The iconic London Road End, with the fence separating both sides, “We’re on the left side, We’re on the left side, We’re on the left side of the London Road...
The cramped conditions, shoulder to shoulder, the noise with the low roof, the smell of cigarettes, booze and P**s.....!
Such happy days.
We win win, we will win, we will win....!
Here we go, here we go, here we go........!
We’re by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen......!

From the other stands it looked like the London Road, when full, just went back and back right into the roof. And produced a fantastic noise. I remember the electric atmosphere of Oxford v Chelsea FA Cup 4th round 1999 under the lights. Due to some dubious refereeing that night we were held to a draw by the Premiership league leaders, but completely out playing them. The London Road end were an extra player that night!
