Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

Eastwood appears to have a weakness when shots come from about 20 yards out like tonight and like Pompey away in the playoffs. He's past his best.

I'm sure Robinson will sign 5 wingers in January to replace him.

So I missed his injury yesterday, what happened?

Sliced a clearance out of play and felt his groin. Hopefully nothing serious but if its a tweak of a previous injury it might be a while.

No offence bazzer but if the prerequisite for signing a player was whether you'd heard of him or not I hate to think what the average age of the squad would be
I hear the CB partnership of Tony Adams and Martin Keown are free-agents. Surely, given Keown's connection to the city, we can at least get him to join?

could be a blessing in disguise (obviously hope it’s not serious)
maybe will force KR to reassess his reluctance to bring in cover

I am guessing that with Mous out, Atkinson was rushed back to play last night, and to be fair, he looked good.
I just can’t think of an answer to our defensive issues........... oh unless we, oh no KR doesn’t think we need more cover, well if he did he’s had plenty of time to get someone in......

If Atkinson was failing medicals at other clubs before we decided to sign him, then this looks likely to be a regular occurrence and we should probably get another CB in if at all possible.

So your saying he has had this problem a while then?

No, I don't what the problem was that caused other clubs not to take a punt.
No idea if there ever was any past injury issues but when we picked him up he hadn't even played 2 half seasons of conference football 15 games on loan at Braintree and 20 games at Eastleigh, so clubs might of been waiting for him to finish the season and see if the good form continued, rather than risking jumping in.

From my understanding, in January, Atkinson went for a medical at another club and there was an issue with (I think) his ankle. They were looking at him going straight into the side and therefore pulled out of the deal. We were looking at him not being involved until the summer so looked at a treatment/development programme that would get him ready for when we were expecting him back. That's why he stayed with us for a couple of weeks before going back out on loan.

To my knowledge there were no existing injury concerns going into this season, but groin strains are difficult to access completely. I suspect that he came off as a precaution and will probably miss Swindon and Charlton but should be available for next weekend.

Yeah was told he was about to sign for Peterborough before ‘failing’ a medical...his agent then came to us as he has a pretty unique playing style that wouldn’t fit at most clubs.

Not sure which element he fell short on but we have a history of managing injuries so entirely understand the signing
